I've never had a cabbage roll & couldn't be bothered with the time it takes to make them & found this soup. I've made this at least 5 times now, I always half the recipe but only realised today the only thing I've halved is the broth & rice 🤦🏻‍♀️ But it's still a delicious, easy to make & cheap soup! It's become a staple for me & I make it pretty much every other week since finding the recipe.

In reply to Laina. Hi Laina, you can make this recipe in an Instant Pot! Sauté the carrots, onion, and garlic on “Sauté” mode for 3–5 minutes, then add the cabbage, broth, crushed tomatoes, rice, and seasonings. Stir, close the lid, and pressure cook on high for 5 minutes, followed by a 10-minute natural release and then a quick release. Stir in the pre-baked tofu crumbles, let the soup sit on “Keep Warm” for a few minutes to heat through, and add more broth if needed. Enjoy!

This soup tastes exactly like cabbage rolls. It is so tasty! I love this soup and make it regularly. It's probably best in winter, but I love it so much that I make it all year round!

Very yummy recipe. Added some hot peppers to spice it up and used pan fried reconstituted TVP for the crumbles. Very filling!

You are so talented! made this the other night and it turned out fantastic. I really enjoyed making my own meat substitute without all the preservatives (who knew it was so easy!). I didn't have crushed tomatoes so I had to go with spaghetti sauce (and probably should have cut down on the sugar because of it) but it still tastes amazing. perfect for fall!

That is excellent. Totally is cabbage rolls, but in a soup. Love it. Used dill instead of oregano because I've always used dill in cabbage rolls, but that's the only change I made. I was skeptical about the brown sugar, but used it and did not regret. All told, instant favourite.

Made this today but was feeling as little lazy and used 1 cup of TVP instead of the tofu, added a little extra water. It is fantastic! I will be making this again, so tasty and tastes so much like cabbage rolls!
Great as we are having bad weather (Toronto) just now.
