Love these! Made them for Christmas and gave them to our little guy Barkley and a couple of his doggy friends. A big hit, and super easy to make (I happened to use Christmas cookie cutters :D).

Hi Jenna! You will need applesauce for this recipe, but you can easily make that from fresh apples in the microwave. Simply peel, core, and chop one medium apple. Place it in a microwave-safe bowl with 2 tablespoons of water, cover loosely, and microwave on high for 3-4 minutes until soft. Mash or blend until smooth, then let it cool slightly before using. Enjoy!

Can I use fresh apples instead of applesauce?

Just made these for our Elfie (and her friend Lou who's staying with us while her human is on holiday). They are super easy and very good, I'm having trouble not eating them myself!

With just 5 simple ingredients, they’re healthier and cheaper than store-bought options. Plus, the smell of baking apple pie is a bonus! My dog Chickpea loves them, and the added cinnamon helps freshen her breath. Perfect for spoiling your furry friend or as a thoughtful gift. Thanks for sharing this easy, wholesome recipe—my dog and I couldn’t be happier

Yes! I would recommend whole wheat flour as it is healtheir than all-purpose for your dogs, but a little all-purpose wont hurt 🙂

Can I use regular flour? I don't have a food processor and I don't have oat flour.

Hi Kris, thanks for sharing. 🙂 I sourced my information from PetMD (link) "Because of its nutrients, cinnamon can be safe—and often beneficial—when baked into your pup’s treats in small amounts. Cinnamon is known for these health benefits: High in antioxidants, Reduces inflammation, Promotes heart health, Helps lower blood sugar levels, May relieve digestive discomfort" I hope that helps 🙂

Please note: Some cinnamon can be bad for dogs. Ceylon Cinnamon – The bark of the Ceylon cinnamon tree is what is used to make Ceylon cinnamon. It is safe because it has low levels of courmarin, a natural organic chemical compound.
❌The Chinese Cinnamon (or Cassia Cinnamon)– The bark of the Chinese cinnamon tree is used to make cassia cinnamon. The higher levels of courmarin pose can potentially be harmful to the health of your dog, so you should avoid this type of cinnamon for your dog
